Library Help

Members of the Marion County Genealogical Society are ready to help you. They won't do your genealogy research for you, but they will point you in the right direction and show you how to use available resources. Genealogy help is available in the Genealogy Room of the Marion County Public Library Headquarters in Ocala and in the Computer Room of the Belleview Public Library. The schedule for these help sessions is subject to change, so please see the Library Calendar on our website for the most up-to-date information. Click LEARN MORE to find maps to each location.

If you live outside of Marion County and cannot come to these sessions, we can still help. Please go to Research Assistance on our website.

There is no charge for these services. However, if you are pleased with the help you've received and would like to make a donation to the Society, you can do so on our website at Donations. Your contribution can be made by check, credit/debit card, or Paypal.

MCGS MEMBERS: Our Library Help program has been very successful. We need more volunteers. If you can spend one or two afternoons a month helping other genealogists, please contact Bettie DeBary (Ocala) or Marya Latson (Belleview). Training is provided.
